Educators in the Philippines See Benefits of JW.ORG

In 2016, Jehovah’s Witnesses had the privilege of demonstrating the educational value of videos and articles from the jw.org website to a group of educators in the Province of Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines. The Witnesses first visited the province’s Department of Education in the capital, Dipolog City. The administrators were so impressed with jw.org that they invited the Witnesses to deliver a 30-minute presentation at three upcoming seminars for teachers from several municipalities in Zamboanga del Norte.

How were the presentations delivered?

The Witnesses showed a selection of videos and Web articles to some 300 teachers present at each seminar. The attendees especially enjoyed the topic “Dealing With Debt.” Many of the teachers felt that the presentation would help not only their students but also the teachers themselves. All of them accepted a copy of the tract Where Can We Find Answers to Life’s Big Questions? which outlines the vast amount of interesting and helpful information available on jw.org. Some teachers also downloaded videos from the website.

The three presentations were so successful that the provincial Department of Education arranged for additional presentations to assist approximately 600 guidance counselors and other educators. Once again, many sincere expressions of appreciation were received.

“The website is a great help”

Some of the attendees later explained how the presentations and the website have helped them. “I would like to express my gratitude,” said one teacher. “I find the site useful in teaching my pupils.” Another teacher admitted: “I have many lessons to learn, especially on coping with stress. The website is a great help, not only for young ones but also for those getting older.”

More than 350 educators attending the jw.org presentations asked for more information. The Witnesses responded by providing additional literature and by sharing practical advice from the Bible with all who requested it.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are delighted that well over 1,000 educators attended the jw.org presentations in Zamboanga del Norte and learned how the jw.org website can be a powerful teaching resource. This valuable educational tool can benefit educators worldwide by providing a wealth of ethical, moral, and spiritual guidance. a
